What is Anime? How can you differentiate your other auditions from this one? How do you handle the “beeps” and the technical aspects of this medium? So many good questions – and we’ve got your answers!
Join Counselor Brent Mukai, as he leads us in Scaling Mt. Anime! Brent has been in over FIFTY anime titles and has won the Society of Voice Arts Award for Outstanding Anime Character multiple times. So, yeah, he knows his stuff.
In this 3 week class, you’ll learn anime foundations, specific audition techniques, and ways to be a cut above the rest. Plus, we’ll end with a mock director’s session where we’ll bring in an engineer so you get real-world experience in dubbing for anime! It’s gonna be an action-packed session, only the fearless will apply!

GROUND STAKES
A note we voice directors often make to actors or a common request we see in auditions is to BE GROUNDED. But what does that even mean? What does a grounded read vs. a non-grounded read look or feel like? To have a career in the AAA gaming space – you have to have ‘grounded’ on lock.
This class will help you anchor in your Video Game reads by working your imagination muscles to create grounded work. We’ll be working with tone to make your audition and takes stand out. So you can be consistent in your reads, and trustworthy to a hiring professional.
Our Guest Counselor, Casting Director, and Voice Director Hari Leigh (Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Wylde Flowers), will be taking you through what Developers and Casting Directors are looking for in the auditions they receive, specifically for AAA games. This class will meet you where you are, so all levels are welcome!
