We like to say that commercials are the trunk of the voiceover tree. This track will help you build those foundational roots and unlock your own unique voice –
before branching out with any characters/voices. Casting Directors and Agents want to hear each actor’s truthful voice first and this is a great way to ensure you have this skill down pat before jumping into the other sectors of the VO world!
Trekking the Commercial Trail is integral to our foundation and to the building blocks we create here at Voiceover Camp. For this reason, it’s also the prerequisite for many of our other classes. It involves developing your very specific and personal style within the industry, as well as deepening your understanding on how to excavate that in the most nurturing way possible.
We’ll cover audition techniques, how to make words that aren’t your own ‘conversational’, how to switch off that ‘announcer voice’, and more. Plus, everyone will get plenty of “on-mic” experience with tailored feedback, notes, and redirects.
Whether you’re just starting out, or are a veteran feeling “stuck” - this class will guide you to the next level!

You’ve built the foundation with Level 1, and now it’s time to elevate yourself further. Your Counselor will go into more advanced commercial techniques, help guide you on how to get (and tackle) commercial auditions, and then dive into what’s expected in the business of voice acting.
We’ll cover all this and give you plenty of “on-mic” experience with tailored feedback, notes, and redirects.

This offering is one of our faves because it’s filled with so many a-ha and lightbulb moments! Demos aren’t a ‘one size fits all’ deal. They need to be competitive and unique to you in order to garner the attention of prospective agents, clients, and buyers.
Counselor Scott will walk you through the necessary steps to prepare you for recording day. That doesn’t mean you’ll be ready to make a demo as soon as class wraps – this is a precursor. You’re working towards your demo while still learning about your special sauce, honing your skills, and continuing to develop your process.
We’ll be foraging for our individual copy, lots of it - so be ready to read quite a bit more than in any other course. Plus, expect to wrap up these exciting four weeks with a healthy file of demo-ready copy tailored just for you to take to your future demo session!
